Everything is unfolding perfectly for a budding spiritual revolution. Let that statement read as hope. So many micro communities sit adjacent—from functional designers solidifying tech-wear in fashion, to food centric climate and ecology activists, to those researching alternative futures on are.na, and a bunch of us craving turrell-esque somatic experiences socially. Connection (to self/nature/others) is the through line.

Culture is prodding meditation, certainly mindful experience, and the antennas of brutalist, rural futuristic, or digitally coded aesthetics (e.g.) in spirituality are signaling seeds planted in minds not tempted by previous spiritual associations of woo-woo “peace and love hippie regalia”. The hyper globalization of the late 20th and early 21st century and the post-covid algorithmic content disaster have left us (in the first world) with anything, everything—excess. This exponential digital & material consumption is revealing. Suffering remains rampant. We are exposing the emptiness of things. In fact we are grinding so aggressively against the wisdom of our own spirits that, as the efforts and karma of many overflow their niche communities, we as a society might combust just enough to get a grip on the nature of our own suffering. We are collectively ready to reframe our capitalist dna and invest attention and ambition into the sacred technology of the mind—for the sake of every being.
